Ideas about advanced search
basically we want the advanced search function to operate like abi inform or asp. It should have a default AND operator connecting search boxes and drop down options for OR and NOT and drop down lists for fields (including any or keyword)

e-journal titles should be followed by (online)
Most of the records for online journals have a 130 field that has the title followed by (online).

Possibly make the library open 24-hours a day during finals season.
Having a good place to study during finals season is something that I, along with many others, think is an important thing for preparing for final exams/papers.
While the standard library hours are sufficient for the main part of the year, I think they are somewhat insufficient during finals season as some people do pull all-night study sessions, which can be hampered by the different sleeping patterns of roommates and other factors.
I think that if the library was open 24-hours a day during finals season, it would be a perfect environment for late-night studying.

undo filters with back button
Try a search for "rehabilitation" Then do a search for "fish". Limit to author Lionni Leo. Then hit the back button. It takes you all the way back to Rehabilitation, rather than fish. I see that I could go to the advanced search and delete Lionni Leo, but I think people will expect that they can use the back button.

This currently does not work in IE and is being worked on. It worked in all other major browsers.

call number search
As I see it, we don't have a way to search online through call number. We search in the Stacks that way, why not online?

RESERVES
Items placed on reserve in Workflows does not show up as a reserve in the catalog. Instead, the home location shows up as "stacks". This is a big problem!

Add an expand caret next to "advanced" to show toggling
One of those pointing-to-right ones to show expandability and pointing-down ones to show compressibility.

stop searching
Is there a way to stop a search that's underway? Sometimes I try a search and then realize that I'm on a page with federated search and I didn't want that. I'd like to stop the search without waiting for it to complete.

This is definitely possible. However, in the meantime, you do not have to wait for the search to stop. Just go to the page you want. It will stop the search automatically.

Alphabet anchors
It would be great if the A-Z list had the alphabet at the top, with each letter jumping you to that part of the page. Like, if you click on W, it jumps you down to Wilson Select Plus.
